Every edition of the Jio MAMI Mumbai Film Festival gives cinephiles the opportunity to watch different kind of films every day for over a week. But if you want to take a break or indulge in discussions about cinema, these events will seem very tempting:
Go on a multimedia archaeological journey that traces Dadasaheb Phalke’s life

30 years ago, when Kamal Swaroop decided to take a break from filmmaking, he undertook a project to trace Dadasaheb Phalke’s missing biography. What started out as a scrapbook resulted in a book and screenplay filled with stories, pictures and cutouts from the legendary filmmaker’s works and life.
Watch Anupama Chopra chat with Netflix VP Erik Barmack
The Vice President of International Originals at Netflix is visiting the city, and he will be speaking to Anupama Chopra at an event called ‘Hero or Villain’.
Watch live CCTV footage that captures the spirit of a Mumbai neighbourhood
CAMP, a group of Mumbai-based artists, will be giving viewers a look into the 200-year-old history of the city through live footage of the neighbourhood of Lower Parel shot by a camera installed at PVR Phoenix. It will give a glimpse into the various changes that the city has undergone over the years —reclamation, industrialisation and even neo-liberalism and will be presented as a virtual reality experience.
Meet the members of India’s first women-only documentary collective
Mediastorm, a first-of-its-kind women-only and women-driven documentary collective which was started in 1985 by six students of Jamia Millia Islamia’s AJK Mass Communication Research Centre.
