Bollywood actress Janhvi Kapoor is all set to mark her debut in the South with Jr NTR’s upcoming film Devara: Part 1. In the film, she will be seen playing the role of a village girl named Thangam, thus donning a never-seen avatar. Janhvi will feature alongside Tarak as the female lead, leaving fans excited to look forward to the brand-new pairing. While details about the film have been presently kept under wraps, the Dhadak actress recently opened up about her experience of working on the film. Janhvi also shared that she found it difficult to learn her lines due to less knowledge about Telugu.
Mentioning that she had received her lines from the makers and wanted to learn them soon, Janhvi said that she feels ashamed of not knowing the Telugu language.
“I never learned Telugu which is something I am ashamed of. I can understand it phonetically but I cannot speak. It is one of my biggest regrets. This part of me has been dormant for a while. However, the Devara team is very patient and helpful. They are working with such stalwarts. I am grateful that they are just a call away to help my lines,” the actress told The Week.
Janhvi also mentioned that she is focusing on learning her lines and doesn’t want to speak in English. For the unversed, Janhvi Kapoor’s mother, the late Sridevi hails from the South. Her mother tongue was Telugu while she was also fluent in Tamil.
In the meantime, the actress also shared another update about Devara, revealing that the shooting for the film’s songs is yet to be done.
