According to reports, Harry and Meghan’s multi-million-pound deal with Netflix is ending, with reports suggesting the streaming giant will not renew the contract when it expires this September.
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have seen a lot of ups and downs in their personal lives ever since they gave up their royal title. Their strained relationship with the Royal family is known to all. It’s all in the much-known memoir _Spare_ and we have watched it in Netflix’s Harry & Meghan docuseries.
End of Netflix deal
“The deal is done; no more shows will be made," a source told The Sun. “Netflix feel they’ve got all they can from the couple. Netflix were clever in that they got a hell of a lot of viewers for the first documentary series, and knew, realistically, it would prove the zenith of content from the Montecito pair. They’re not unhappy with how things turned out, they got those initial hits, and produced one of the most talked-about shows of all time.
Industry insiders revealed to the media outlet that the platform, based on a subscription model, has “no appetite” to renew its deal, which will expire later this year.
Harry and Meghan heading for bankruptcy?
According to reports, Meghan had everything going for her, name, platform, and publicity, but the viewing numbers for the show were dismal. “This deal is dead.”
An insider said, “Meghan and Harry rely on this deal to sustain upkeep on their $29million mansion and their huge range of staff. Without it, and without massively curbing their spending, they could be headed for bankruptcy.”
Harry and Meghan : From buzzy to just a background noise
A Netflix source had to say that there was initial curiosity about them, but that’s evaporated. “They have gone from buzzy to background noise.”
Markle’s lifestyle series, With Love Meghan, which debuted in March but struggles to gain traction, was ranked at 383rd position on Netflix with just 5.3 million views in the first half of the year. It was a total disaster as compared to their first docuseries, Harry & Meghan.
People have to say that they are not natural content creators and that we all know how With Love Meghan looked like a fake, forced and totally unnatural series. Looks like their creative bankruptcy is going to be the cause of their financial bankruptcy!
About Netflix’s bland show With Love Meghan
Not much of her personality has been revealed in the Netflix show, rather it is more about self-glorification. She doesn’t mention much about her life before meeting Prince Harry. In one of the scenes, it has been seen that Meghan is wrapping gifts. In fact, she mentions that before becoming an actress, she used to run gift wrapping classes.
According to Netflix in With Love Meghan, Meghan shares personal tips and tricks for hosting and adding more fun and thoughtfulness to the everyday. Drawing on her years of home cooking and entertaining, she spends time with friends new and old as they make memories together — whether reminiscing about growing up in Los Angeles with chef Roy Choi or laughing at the prospect of tucking a fish into a blanket of salt with cherished girlfriends.
