Genius teaser: Director Anil Sharma's son Utkarsh makes his debut in this sci-fi film starring Ayesha Jhulka, Nawazuddin Siddiqui

Filmmaker Anil Sharma, who had directed the 2001’s mammoth blockbuster Gadar: Ek Prem Katha starring Sunny Deol and Ameesha Patel, is now launching his son Utkarsh Sharma in the upcoming film  Genius . The teaser of the film was released on 8 March. Anil Sharma posted on Twitter and sought blessings for his son:

The teaser features Utkarsh dancing while lots of colour is thrown all around; it is the festival of Holi.  In the film’s title scene, the tagline reads: “Dil Ki Ladai Dimaag Se (The fight of heart through the brain).” The  first look  of Utkarsh in the film was suave and uptight, while this teaser shows him in a completely different avatar.Genius is a science fiction film which reportedly also features  Ayesha Jhulka , Mithun Chakraborty and Nawazuddin Siddiqui in supporting roles. While Nawazuddin’s role is still under wraps, Ayesha will play the mother of Utkarsh’s love interest, played by another newcomer and lead actress of the film Ishita Chauhan. The film’s music is composed by Himesh Reshammiya. Utkarsh had previously essayed the role of Sunny Deol’s son, Jeete, in Gadar: Ek Prem Katha. Having completed his professional training in direction and production from a university in the US, he is back in India all set to make his debut in Bollywood. The film has been backed by Anil Sharma Productions and Soham Rockstar Entertainment. Genius is slated to release on 24 August.
