The Randhir Kapoor directorial chronicles the journey of Chander an Indian man, who meets with an accident and falls into the river, which washes him up on the other side of the border (Pakistan). A local village girl named Henna (Zeba Bakhtiar) and her family, rescue him assuming he is from Pakistan and later we see the duo falling for each other. Shaheed-e-Mohabbat Boota Singh

Based on the real story of Boota Singh, an ex-soldier in the British Army during World War II, Shaheed-e-Mohabbat Boota Singh featured Gurdass Mann and Divya Dutta in lead roles. In the film we see, Boota Singh rescuing a Muslim girl named Zainab from communal rioters post India-Pakistan partition of 1947 after which they fall in love with each other.
