Harshvardhan Rane and Sonam Bajwa starrer Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat has not only turned out to be one of the biggest surprises of the year, but it has also joined the ranks of some Bollywood biggies in achieving some milestones.
While the romantic drama is marching towards the Rs 60 crore mark, it will soon cross the Rs 3 crore mark in Bihar, which has been achieved only by films like Saiyaara, Chhaava, War 2, Housefull 5, Raid 2, Sitaare Zameen Par and Sikandar this year. On the other hand, Stree 2, Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3, Singham Again, Fighter and Shaitaan achieved this feat last year at the box office.
_Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat_ is a relatively small film compared to the movies mentioned above, and hence, this milestone is significant and noteworthy.
In an interview with Zoom, Milap Zaveri revealed, “Last year, iss time par, I didn’t have a single film as a director. And in one year, I’ve directed three films. One has released and become a superhit. Masti 4 is coming on November 21, and Tera Yaar Hoon Main is in December. I’m very grateful and fortunate. I just hope jo shubh nariyal futa hai with Deewaniyat, that good luck continues with my next films.”
“When Sanam Teri Kasam re-released, I had the script and I always loved Harsh’s work. So, I messaged him. I honestly didn’t expect that he’d reply so quickly,” Milap shared. “The day I messaged, he replied, he met me and he said yes. It was magical," added the director.
Rane, the leading man of the film, recently went at a multiplex to check the reaction of the film and thank the audience for their love for both his film and Ayushmann Khurrana’s Thamma.
The actor said, “This Diwali, you supported the films of two outsiders. Ayushmann Khurrana’s film has released along with mine. Watch both the films, please, and enjoy both. This sends a good message out that aap logon ne akele poora ka poora Bollywood se nepotism hi khatm kar diya (you people alone finished nepotism from the entire Bollywood)."
