Popular actor Rituraj Singh, best known for working in several TV shows including Anupamaa, passed away on Tuesday, 20 February due to a sudden cardiac arrest at the age of 59. Singh’s close friend and actor Amit Behl confirmed the news of his demise, stating that Rituraj Singh was hospitalised due to some stomach issues and was discharged a few days back.
He further confirmed that the actor passed away around 12:30 AM on Tuesday at his home. At a time when tributes have been pouring in all across social media platforms from fans and celebrities alike, an old picture featuring the late actor and superstar Shah Rukh Khan has also resurfaced on the internet.
In a throwback tribute for the late actor, fans recalled the time when both SRK and Rituraj Singh were part of Barry John’s Theatre Action Group (TAG). While the black and white pictures feature a very young Shah Rukh Khan and Rituraj Singh, one can also spot Divya Seth and Deepika Amin in the candid moments.
The pictures were originally shared by the late actor in 2019. “Four Musketeers, before their Dreams came True & they moved to ( the then Bombay( now) Mumbai. On a Train ( of Thought) Acting in TAG: Theatre Action Group. Learning from Our Guru #barryjohn6,” he wrote in the caption.
Apart from this, a few other old pictures including one with late actor Irrfan Khan have also gone viral.
Rituraj Singh ’s last rites
The late actor’s last rites were carried out on Wednesday, 21 February in Oshiwara, Mumbai. Friends and colleagues of the Anupamaa actor were seen arriving to pay their last tributes. Nakuul Mehta, Hiten Tejwani, Gauri Pradhan, Jaswir Kaur, Vikas Gupta, and Anup Soni among TV celebs were spotted giving their last respects to Singh.
Besides featuring in a number of television shows, Rituraj Singh is also known for his work in films like ‘Badrinath ki Dulhania’, ‘Satyameva Jayate 2’, and ‘Yaariyan 2’ and web shows like ‘Bandish Bandits’ and ‘Made in Heaven’. Born in 1964 in Rajasthan, Singh’s career started in 1992 with the English film Miss Beatty’s Children and had been working quite actively until now. His latest stint was on the popular TV show Anupamaa.
