The full list of nominees for 46th Annie Awards was announced on Monday by International Animated Film Association. Pixar’s Incredibles 2 and Disney’s Ralph Breaks the Internet topped the list with 11 and 10 nominations respectively including in best animated feature category, stated The Hollywood Reporter.
The other films that have scored nominations for the category, along with Incredibles 2 and Ralph Breaks The Internet are Wes Anderson’s stop-motion Isle of Dogs , Sony Pictures’ Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse and Aardman Animations’ Early Man. Whereas Early Man and Into the Spider-Verse have earned seven nominations each, the Wes Anderson-helmed project has bagged four. In addition to this, Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse and Early Man will also be competing for the International Animated Film Society’s awards.
Furthermore, Disney’s forthcoming film Mary Poppins Returns, which has combined live action and animation, has bagged five nominations, three of which are for animated feature categories.
The companion category of best independent animated feature has such films as the anthology film Ce Magnifique Gateau!, MFKZ, Japanese fantasy film Mirai, Milorad Krstić’s Ruben Brandt, Collector and Tito and the Birds under it.
The 46th annual Annie Awards will be held on Saturday, 2 February at Royce Hall in Los Angeles.
