Ahead of the release of Sidharth Malhotra’s ‘Yodha’, the makers of the action film organised a trailer launch event on Thursday. It was attended by the cast and crew of the film including producer Karan Johar and female leads, Raashii Khanna and Disha Patani. Disha, during the trailer launch, came out defending the filmmaker Karan Johar over allegations of nepotism while also revealing that she was in fact ‘spotted’ by him during her teenage years.
Disha Patani, at the event, revealed, “If I am an actress today, it is also because of Karan Johar; because he was the one who actually spotted me when I was modelling. I was just 18. I feel like I wouldn’t have been here, if he hadn’t spotted me at that time. So when people say whatever (hinting at nepotism)… I am an outsider. So I feel like this is the opportunity that he gave me.”
As Karan Johar reacted to the words of the _Baaghi 2_ actress by saying “I love you,” Sidharth Malhotra also chimed in, “Kya baat kar rahi ho Disha, main bhi (What are you saying Disha, me too).” Notably, the Shershah actor made his acting debut with Karan Johar’s Student Of The Year.
It needs to be noted that the trailer launch event of Yodha was one of a kind as it took place it took place up in the air at 37,000 feet above the ground. The makers, in a twist, launched the trailer in a flight. A video of the same was shared by Sidharth Malhotra on Instagram. It featured him along with Disha Patani, and Raashii Khanna. He accompanied the video with a caption that read, “Roaring at 37,000 feet! #YodhaTrailer soars high, unleashing action at its peak.” He added, “Yodha Trailer out now. Yodha in cinemas March 15.”
Meanwhile, Disha Patani entered the Bollywood industry with M.S. Dhoni: The Untold Story, headlined by the late actor Sushant Singh Rajput. She went on to make a mark with the films lik Baaghi 2, Bharat, Malang, and Ek Villain Returns. Apart from Yodha, Disha Patani is also a part of the Telugu film Kalki 2898 AD which features Prabhas in the lead role. Additionally, she will also be seen in Akshay Kumar’s Welcome to the Jungle.
