The hype around Dhurandhar 2 has gone global, with actor R Madhavan revealing that fans from Dubai and other parts of the UAE are planning trips to India just to catch the film in theatres. The Ranveer Singh-starrer, directed by Aditya Dhar, is slated for a theatrical release on March 19, 2026, but will not be released in the UAE due to regional restrictions — prompting ardent fans to travel for the big-screen experience.
Dubai fans plan India trips to watch _Dhurandhar 2_
Speaking on a podcast with Sonia Shenoy, R Madhavan shared how viewers from Dubai had earlier flown to India to watch the first _Dhurandhar_ after it was banned in their region, and are now planning similar trips for the sequel.
“If you look at Dhurandhar, people from Dubai actually flew down, for one day, to watch the film and then flew back. That is the power of good content,” Madhavan said.
He added that fans are now scheduling business meetings around the film’s release. “Now they are planning their business meetings around March 19 so that they can attend the meeting and watch _Dhurandhar 2_ because it’s not releasing in Dubai. For them, it would be so easy to just watch it on IPTV, but they want the theatre experience,” the actor explained.
‘Cinema gives you a community experience,’ says Madhavan
Madhavan underlined that despite easy access to streaming and IPTV platforms, audiences still crave the collective energy of cinema halls. “ Watching the same film alone at home feels completely different. They want to experience watching a film like Dhurandhar in a theatre full of people. That gives you a community experience,” he said.
