Dharmendra Passes Away at 89: Remembering the most iconic dialogues of Hindi cinema's He-Man

Veteran Bollywood star Dharmendra, aged 89, has passed away.

The legend of Hindi cinema on November 12 had got discharged from Breach Candy Hospital in Mumbai and was said to be in a stable condition and recovering well at home. As the He-Man of Hindi cinema departs, let’s have a look at some of the most iconic dialogues he immortalized with his robust performances and rage:

Sholay

This Ramesh Sippy directorial that came out in 1975 is one of the most iconic films of Hindi cinema. And every dialogue is a part of the pop culture even today. Dharmendra has many iconic dialogues from this classic.

Dharam Veer

The legendary actor was at his massy and macho best in the 1977 Manmohan Desai blockbuster where he was as heroic as he could get. This is one of his most memorable performances.

Chup Chup Ke

Dharmendra  is effortless in the comic space as well. Reuniting with Hrishikesh Mukherjee for the 1975 Chupke Chupke, the actor shows his softer and sillier (in good ways) side and proved he can make someone smile and not just break his bones.

Aadmi Aur Insaan

In this Yash Chopra directorial, Jai and Munish’s friendship is ruined when both of them fall in love with the same girl, Meena. Things take a turn when Munish finds out Jai was involved in the case of a faulty railway bridge.

Apne

2007 is one of the most intriguing years for the veteran star as he dabbled with different worlds and characters- Johnny Gaddaar, a terrific thriller bathed in pure Bollywood pulp that’s gone missing in the narratives today. He blended effortlessly with the classic storytelling of the idiosyncratic Sriram Raghavan. He also did the heartfelt Life In A Metro by  Anurag Basu . And the tearjerking Apne by Anil Sharma, with whom he always delivered money spinners.
