India vs South Africa, 2nd Test Day 3 Live Score: Welcome to the coverage of Day 3 in the second Test between India and South Africa in Guwahati. The third day is called the moving day of a Test match and India definitely will have to move fast if they have to pull out a positive result out of this game and draw the series level.
At stumps on the second day, India reached nine without loss after KL Rahul and Yashasvi Jaiswal saw off a tricky period of 6.1 overs with light quickly fading away. India will start the third day with a deficit of 480 runs and not only do they have to score big, they also have to score quick enough to get a chance to bowl out South Africa again.
‘Yashasvi Jaiswal to be key’
Yashasvi Jaiswal will be the most important player for India going into the third day, reckons former opener Parthiv Patel. Jaiswal ability to score big and score quick will both have to come together for India to pull off what seems an improbable victory in this Test match. Eyes will also be on Rishabh Pant as he is also a similar kind of a player. But South Africa have the in-form spin duo of Simon Harmer and Keshav Maharaj to trouble India.
Muthusamy, Jansen shine on Day 2
The second day of the Test match belonged to Senuran Muthusamy and Marco Jansen. Muthusamy completed his maiden Test century and scored a composed 109.
Jansen missed out on his century by seven runs but smashed 93 from just 91 balls. His seven sixes in the innings are now the most by a visiting batter in India in Tests.
The duo pushed South Africa to a formidable score of 489 all out.
