As drives his car, he sees there is no electricity across the city. He finds his friend Ravi on the way (Anant Joshi) and drops him home. As it starts raining, he plans to come back home. On the way, his car dashes with the robbers’ van. When he comes out to check the whereabouts, Lenny sees that all of them are dead with jewellery and cash in the van.

He removes one big black suitcase from the van and keeps it in his car. While he is super happy and dreams that this jewellery and cash will make him and his wife Roshni super rich, he accidentally hits a man on the street (Kelly Dorji).

He comes out to check, whether that man is alive or not and sees some localities hounding him for dashing that person. Then we see the entry of Bewdya (Sunil Grover), who tells him that person is dead and that he will help Lenny to keep this secret if he gives him some money and single malt whiskey.

STORY CONTINUES BELOW THIS AD

While Lenny and Bewdya are on their way to the graveyard to bury that body, we see two so-called local influencers Thik and Thak (Karan Sonawane and Saurabh Ghadge) there, who join them in the crime.

Interestingly, these two influencers had stolen Lenny’s camera at the police station, post his sting operation with an inspector. When all of them get ready to bury him, they find he is alive and all of them run from the graveyard.

On the run, Bewdya demands whiskey, Lenny stops at a wine shop and tells him that it’s a dry day and they won’t be able to buy any liquor. But without Lenny’s knowledge, Bewdya along with Thik and Thak breaks into the wine shops and steals liquors.

Soon, they are chased by police and on the way, in the night, Shruti (Mouni Roy) comes in their way for help and lift. While they are chased by the cops, Bewdya is now in a new zone and is suddenly shooting at the police jeep with his golden revolver.

STORY CONTINUES BELOW THIS AD

Shruti is shocked by her life and reveals to Lenny and others that Bewdya is none other than popular don Asghar Bhai, who killed over 100 people and ran away from his hometown 14 years back.

Lenny doesn’t believe what a night he is going through but hang on! There is so much attached to his period with more solid twists and turns. And for that, you need to watch Blackout on Jio Cinema.

Despite several things happening at the same time, director Devang Shashin Bhavsar makes sure that the narrative is funny and entertaining throughout. While the non-linear editing may turn out to be a bit confusing for some audiences, it keeps you at the edge of your seat with fast-paced storytelling.

Talking about the performances, Vikrant Massey acts well as Lenny but the show stealer is Sunil Grover as Bewdya aka Asghar Bhai. Mouni and Jisshu Sengupta have done what was expected of them. Other breakout performances were given by Karan Sonawane and Saurabh Ghadge, who impressed with their impeccable timing.

STORY CONTINUES BELOW THIS AD

On the whole, Blackout is an entertaining affair and easily can be a part of your binge-watch list this weekend.
