Bade Miyan Chote Miyan actor Ronit Roy slams Vashu Bhagnani for delayed payment: 'Money was supposed to come from...'

The Bade Miyan Chote Miyan fiasco revolving around payment dues has been in the news for quite some time. While director Ali Abbas Zafar, producer Vashu Bhagnani and OTT giant Netflix have been sharing their side on the ongoing row, actor Ronit Roy, who played a prominent role in the Akshay Kumar-Tiger Shroff starrer, has slammed the producer for the delay in payment.

“The money was supposed to come from Vashu Bhagnani, and it came from Vashu Bhagnani, but that happened only after Himanshu Mehra (who works with Ali Abbas Zafar) intervened," said Rohit while talking to Zoom.

He added, “And when it came to the dues of my staff and my security company that guarded the sets in Mumbai, it was all very much delayed, and we got that also due to Himanshu.”

Calling his experience ‘painful’ of working in the film, Ronit said that he won’t collaborate again with Vashu in the future. Rubbishing producer’s claim of Ali hijacking the film, he said, “Vashu was on the set every day. He is a veteran. It is difficult to believe how he did not realise that on the set.”

Ali Abbas Zafar has filed a complaint with Federation of Western Indian Cine Employees (FWICE) against Bhagnani for non-payment of his Rs 7.30 crore fees.

In retaliation to the complaint, the production house filed a counter claim against director/producer Ali Abbas Zafar and partner Himanshu Mehra who have a very clean track record to malign their image. They’ve stated that Zafar, along with Mehra and finance head, Ekesh Ranadive, misappropriated the subsidy funds they took from Abu Dhabi authorities during the shoot of the film.

As soon as the news spread, ‘  _Bade Miyan Chote Miyan_ ’ crew members took to social media to state that the accusations against Ali Abbas Zafar are false. Khalid, who worked as an actor in ‘Bade Miyan Chote Miyan’ shared that he, just like many crew members of the film, had to “beg” Pooja Entertainment for his payment. He said he also spoke to Jackky Bhagnani regarding the payment but after assurances that he will be paid, the actor-producer “blocked” him.
