Vashu Bhagnani continues to be in trouble. After the disastrous performance of his film Bade Miyan Chote Miyan, director Ali Abaas Zafar accused his production house of non-payment of his Rs 7.30 crore fees.
Bhagnani has now accused streaming giant Netflix of cheating him.
Speaking with Economic Times, Vashu Bhagnani claimed that the OTT platform ‘cheated and conspired against the rights’ of his recent three films. The films are said to about the rights of Hero No 1, Mission Raniganj and Bade Miyan Chote Miyan. He filed a complaint against Los Gatos Production Services India, through which Netflix reports its content investments in India, Zoo Digital India and several executives of both companies.
Netflix releases a statement
“These claims are completely unfounded. Indeed, it’s Pooja Entertainment that owes Netflix money. We have a strong track record of partnership with the Indian creative community and are working with the authorities to resolve this dispute.” - Netflix spokesperson.
That’s not all, Vashu Bhagnani and Jackky Bhagnani of Pooja Entertainment filed a complaint against Ali Abbas Zafar for siphoning the subsidy funds he took from Abu Dhabi authorities during the shoot of Bade Miyan Chote Miyan.
The current report has been floating of non-payment by the producers since last evening and the complaint has been filed in Bandra Police Station on 3rd September 2024 post which the reports have started and Bandra Police Station will summon the director anytime now.
A report by Dainik Bhaskar says Ali Abbas Zafar has filed a complaint with Federation of Western Indian Cine Employees (FWICE) against Bhagnani for non-payment of his Rs 7.30 crore fees, on the other hand, FWICE requested the Bharat helmer present evidence supporting his claims regarding unpaid due.
The production house released a statement that said, “The dues claimed do not constitute a legitimate claim and are subject to various set-offs, as communicated to us by BMCM Films Ltd.”
