Alia Bhatt wraps shooting for Vasan Bala's Jigra; shares candid pics with co-star Vedang Raina

It’s a wrap for Alia Bhatt starrer Jigra! The Bollywood actress announced on Thursday the completion of her upcoming thriller film Jigra. Taking to her Instagram account, Alia Bhatt shared a couple of candid pictures with her Jigra co-star Vedang Raina, adding that the film will hit theatres on 27 September 2024. Directed by Vasan Bala, the film is co-produced by Alia Bhatt and Karan Johar. “jigra oh… abki teri baari ho @vedangraina & that’s a film wrap on #JIGRA @vasanbala @swapsagram. See you soon… 27th September 2024 at a cinema near you,” Alia wrote on Instagram.

Later, the pictures were also shared on the Instagram handles of Vedang Raina and Dharma Productions. In the photos, Alia and Vedang can be seen giving some candid poses for the camera against the backdrop of tall buildings on the banks of a water body. While one of them shows the actress embracing Vendang, another one shows Alia sporting a smile, while Vedang covers his face. Both Alia and Vedang can be seen dressed in casual outfits—oversized t-shirts paired with trousers.

About Jigra

Alia Bhatt starrer Jigra was announced back in September 2023. A teaser video of the same was also unveiled, revealing that the film revolves around the story of a courageous sister who will go to extremes to protect her brother at all costs.

“From debuting in a Dharma production to now producing a film with them, in many ways, it feels like coming full circle from where I started. Every day is a different day… exciting, challenging (and a little scary)… not just as an actor but also as a producer as we bring this film to life, and I CANNOT wait to share more as we move forward,” the actress wrote in the caption.

The film is backed by Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions and Alia’s own production house, Eternal Sunshine. While Alia Bhatt plays the lead role, Jigra marks Vedang Raina’s second film after making his debut with Zoya Akhtar’s The Archies.

Last seen in Karan Johar’s _Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani_, Alia also has Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Love & War and Jee Le Zaraa in the pipeline.
