Reliance Jio rings in Dhan Dhana Dhan offer with new recharge plans for subscribers

Reliance Jio, the telecom arm of Mukesh Ambani-controlled Reliance Industries, has announced Jio Dhan Dhana Dhan offer for its subscribers, after telecom regulator Trai last week recommended it to stop its Jio Summer Surprise offer midway.

As per the new offer, those customers who were unable to sign up earlier can now subscribe to Jio Prime membership plan. New users has the option to buy Rs 408 plan, which includes Rs 99 Jio Prime subscription + Rs 309 pack, to avail free voice and 1GB data per day. Subscribers can also recharge Rs 608 plan (Rs 99 + Rs 509) to use 2GB of 4G data per day.

Following the recharge, a Jio subscriber will get free services for 84 days.

The new tariffs under Dhan Dhana Dhan offer are marginally higher compared to the original plan where in users, after subscribing to Jio Prime membership plan, got recharge values of Rs 303 and Rs 499 for 1GB and 2GB 4G data benefits with unlimited voice call.

Under Jio summer Surprise, all Jio Prime members making their first recharge payment of Rs 303 (or higher) plans got 3 months complimentary services in addition to the benefits of their purchased plan.

However, last week Trai advised Jio to withdraw the 3 months complimentary benefits of Jio Summer Surprise offer. The order came days after Jio announced that it has clocked 72 million paid users.

(Disclosure: Reliance Jio is owned by Reliance Industries, which also owns Network18, the publisher of Firstpost)
