The prominent names in who led the workers’ strike at Maruti’s Manesar plant, till last month, have quietly resigned from the company, after receiving settlement amount ranging in several lakhs.

The prominent names in who led the workers’ strike at Maruti’s Manesar plant, till last month, have quietly resigned from the company, after receiving settlement amount ranging in several lakhs , The Economic Times reported .

People familiar with the matter said that the 30 suspended workers, including their leaders Sonu Gujjar and Shiv Kumar quit by Wednesday, taking away payments between Rs 16 lakhs and Rs 40 lakhs, The Economic Times reported.

Both Gujjar and Kumar resigned by 22 October and are said to have received a final settlement amount of Rs 40 lakh each, the paper reported, while the remaining 28 resigned over the next 10 days, pocketing amounts of around Rs 16 lakh.

The development has left the fellow Maruti workers in lurch and will have a bearing on their future interaction with the management.
