Campa Cola residents are not ready to give up their fight against BMC even if they have only 48 hours in hand till the civic body comes to demolish the ‘illegal’ floors.
The residents, who occupy the unauthorised floors of the high-rise society in Worli in south Mumbai, met Maharashtra Chief Minister Prithviraj Chavan, who sources said, only told them that government would seek legal opinion.
Speaking to Firstpost, Nandini Mehta, a resident of the premises, said, “The builders are hand in glove with the civic body. It was even then and it is now. That has not changed.”
The residents have made an urgent appeal to Chavan to make an exception for them because according to them, they are being penalised and thrown out of their homes for no fault of theirs.
Commenting on the situation, Mumbai mayor Sunil Prabhu said,“We totally understand the situation these residents are going through and hope they soon get a relief from the CM.”
