There was a fire scare aboard a IndiGo flight from Mumbai to Delhi after smoke was reportedly seen coming out of the left brake assembly of the aircraft after it landed in the national capital but all passengers and crew were evacuated safely.

While initial reports stated that there was a fire aboard Flight 6E 176 from Mumbai to Delhi, the airline said that there was smoke emerging from the left brake assembly of the aircraft while it was taxiing after landing around 3:35 pm.

Officials from the Air Traffic Controller informed the pilot of the aircraft who called for the evacuation of all persons on board the aircraft.

The airline said that 147 passengers on board the aircraft and six crew had been evacuated safely through emergency exits.

“All the passengers were evacuated by all the right hand side slide-chute and one left hand side slide chute in approximately 75 seconds,” the airline said in a statement.

However, CNN-IBN reported that at least one passenger sustained injuries during the evacuation. The airline confirmed that some of the passengers had sustained minor injuries, but said that they had been given medical assistance and all passengers have left for their homes.

The airline also said that there have no prior problems with the aircraft on which the scare took place.
