Tata Motors likely to announce partnership with Volkswagen at Geneva: Report

The Economic Times in an article says that partnership talks are at an advanced stage and that the deal may have a huge impact on India. For now, the details of this partnership are not too clear, but the report hints that it could either be a joint venture or a technology tie-up.

Tata Motors that recently announced its TAMO brand may be looking to share vehicle architecture and technology between Volkswagen. Other details hint at the sharing of a modular platform for India and other emerging markets.

According to the unnamed source, the partnership is meant to bring out quicker returns on investment through economies of scale.

Livemint contacted Tata Motors for comment got a reply stating that the company keeps discussing various possibilities and that there was nothing more to share at the moment.
