Volkswagen today launched the Tiguan its full-size SUV offering in India. The SUV will arrive in showroom in the Comfortline and Highline variants that are priced at Rs 27.68 lakh and Rs 31.04 lakh respectively (ex-showroom Mumbai).
The design remains the same as the international model and is built using Volkswagen’s popular MQB (Modularer Querbaukasten) platform, that allows for a lighter chassis, that not only makes it lighter on fuel consumption but also allows for better handling as well.

It showcases the new Volkwagen design philosophy with bold and strong lines running from the from the front to the sides. The focus is indeed on the bold new grille that now flows into the new headlamp cluster.

The rest of the design, although fresh and new, looks functional and practical at best. The SUV gets LED headlamps with LED DRLs, five spoke alloy wheels, along with a skid plates and a roof mounted spoiler at the rear.

Moving to the interiors, Volkswagen Tiguan gets a panorma sunroof with LED surroundings, automatic climate control and a touch screen infotainment system at the center of the dashboard. Also available are electrically adjustable front seats along with safety features like Airbags, ABS with EBD, Hill Descent Control and park distance control.

Coming to the stuff that matters, the Tiguan will only be available in one 2.0-litre diesel engine option for now and it’s mated to a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission linked to the 4MOTION all wheel drive system. While your engine options may sound really limited, owners will be happy to know that it produces 143 PS and 340 Nm torque.
Exterior colour options include, Indium Grey, Tungsten Silver, Atlantic Blue, Deep Black and Oryx White. As for what you get with each trim option, you can have a look at the table below.
