The 2017 Honda Dio has finally been launched in India with an official starting price of Rs 49,132 (ex-showroom Delhi). The new model is basically a facelift of the old one. It gets a slightly altered design along with some new paint options and that all-important BS IV engine.
And the engine could be the sole reason to jump for this one as very little has changed with the 2017 Honda Dio. The engine on the new Honda Dio remains the same, 109cc unit that belts out 8 bhp and 8.91 Nm that’s paired with a CVT unit.
The minor changes to the 2017 Honda Dio include new graphics on the body which will remind you of the larger capacity motorcycles like the CBR. The same goes for the paint job, which is now available in a dual-tone combination.
The front apron gets a minor change as well. Under the seat, there is now a mobile-charging port. At the top is a restyled instrument panel along with a V-shaped head lamp.
Take a closer look and you will notice two startling omissions. The lack of a disc brake and telescopic forks up front. Yes, Honda Motorcycle and Scooters India (HMSI) seems to have gotten rid of both, which may be the reason for the slight price drop compared to the old model.
