Padmavati's December release date may force John Abraham push Parmanu to 2018

Amidst multiple speculations of Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s period drama Padmavati’s release being pushed ahead from 17 November to February next year , the makers announced it loud and clear through posters that the film will release this year on 1 December . Twitter[/caption] As a result,  DNA reports that Abhishek Sharma’s period drama Parmanu: The Story of Pokhran, which is slated to release on 8 December this year, might get pushed to the next owing to the competition from the much-anticipated Padmavati, starring Deepika Padukone in the lead role. The same report states that though the makers have incessantly been releasing posters of the film, featuring the co-producer and lead actor John Abraham and Diana Penty, they are reportedly yet to shoot multiple key portions of the film. Since the film, based on India’s first major nuclear weapon test in Pokhran, Rajasthan, is mounted on a huge scale, the makers want to leave no stones unturned in positioning it in the market. Additionally, Gauravv K Chawla’s corporate thriller Baazaar , starring Saif Ali Khan, is also slated to release this December though the exact date has not been officially confirmed yet. All these films are eyeing an early release in December since the Christmas season is reserved for Ali Abbas Zafar’s action thriller Tiger Zinda Hai. The Salman Khan-Katrina Kaif starrer is slated to release on 22 December .
