White House has rejected US President Donald Trump’s connection with Jeffrey Epstein after House Democrats released emails by the sex offender, which mention the Republican leader as being in close contact with him.
“These emails prove absolutely nothing, other than the fact that President Trump did nothing wrong,” White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt said, despite the presence of an email where Epstein said Trump “spent hours at my house” with one of his victims.
Leavitt further said that Trump “kicked out” Epstein from his Florida club for being a “pedophile” as well as a “creep.” She said, “What President Trump has always said is that he was from Palm Beach, and so was Jeffrey Epstein. Jeffrey Epstein was a member at Mar-a-Lago until President Trump kicked him out because Jeffrey Epstein was a pedophile and he was a creep.”
What do the emails say?
In an April 2011 message to longtime associate Ghislaine Maxwell, Epstein asserts Trump spent significant time with a woman whom the White House later identified as Epstein’s main accuser, Virgina Giuffre.
“I want you to realize that that dog that hasn’t barked is Trump,” wrote Epstein. He added that the victim “spent hours at my house with him ,, he has never once been mentioned.”
Maxwell, who was convicted of sex trafficking after Epstein’s death, replied: “I have been thinking about that…”
In another email to the author Michael Wolff, dated January 31, 2019, Epstein allegedly wrote: “of course he knew about the girls as he asked Ghislaine to stop.”
‘They’re deflecting’
Meanwhile, Trump came down heavily on Democrats, asserting that they released the Epstein emails at a time when the US House is set to vote on a shutdown bill and are trying to “deflect” from the issue.
He said on Truth Social, “The Democrats are trying to bring up the Jeffrey Epstein Hoax again because they’ll do anything at all to deflect on how badly they’ve done on the Shutdown, and so many other subjects. Only a very bad, or stupid, Republican would fall into that trap. The Democrats cost our Country $1.5 Trillion Dollars with their recent antics of viciously closing our Country, while at the same time putting many at risk — and they should pay a fair price.”
