Describing India as a “first of its class” defence partner, US Vice President JD Vance on Monday highlighted the deepening strategic ties between the two nations to ensure stability in the Indo-Pacific.
Speaking in Jaipur, Vance said it was fitting that India would host the QUAD leaders’ summit later this year, highlighting the alignment of both countries’ interests in maintaining a free, open, peaceful and prosperous Indo-Pacific region.
“It’s fitting that India this year is hosting the QUAD leaders’ summit this fall. Our interests in a free, open, peaceful and prosperous Indo Pacific are in full alignment…,” he said.
Vance also said, “There’s a vitality to India, a sense of infinite possibility of new homes to be built, new skylines to be raised and lives to be enriched, and there’s a pride in being Indian, a feeling of excitement about the days that lie ahead now.” He said the two countries had much to offer to each other.
