After the latest round of clashes with Pakistan, the Taliban on Wednesday claimed to have captured Pakistani tanks. They released a video of one such purportedly captured tank being driven on an Afghan road.
In a statement on X, Taliban Spokesperson Zabihullah Mujahid said Pakistani forces this morning launched attacks in the Spin Boldak district of Afghanistan’s Kandahar and killed more than 12 civilians and injured over 100.
In their retaliation, Mujahid said the Taliban killed several Pakistani soldiers and captured their posts and weapons, including tanks — watch the video of the purportedly captured tank below.
Firstpost could not independently verify whether the Taliban indeed captured tanks and whether the video is of the same purportedly captured tank.

The latest clashes on Wednesday have taken place in both northern and southern fronts, according to CNN-News 18.
Top intelligence sources told CNN-News 18 that at least six Pakistani soldiers were killed in fierce clashes near Orakzai district’s Ghiljo area in northwestern Pakistan’s Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province as Taliban units stormed Pakistan’s Maahmoodzai post.

More ShortsIn the Balochistan province in the southwest, sources said that heavy artillery firing has damaged Pakistan’s forward posts and field communication system along the border at Chaman district in Balochistan and Spin Boldak in Afghanistan’s Kandahar.
“Wireless and field communication networks have been hit, hampering coordination among security units," intelligence sources said.
While tensions have dominated the Taliban-Pakistan relationship for a long time, these tensions translated into open conflict last week when the Afghan capital Kabul was rocked by explosions on Thursday. The Taliban rulers blamed those explosions on Pakistani airstrikes.
In response to Pakistani strikes, the Taliban launched attacks on Pakistani forces across the Durand Line, the line dividing Afghanistan and Pakistan that the Taliban have long rejected as the two countries’ border. The Taliban said they killed 58 Pakistani soldiers, injured 30, and destroyed 20 Pakistani posts.
The previous round of clashes continued until Saturday and ended with Qatari and Saudi intervention, according to Tolo News.
