Canadian prime minister Justin Trudeau wished all Muslims a joyous Eid-ul-Fitr in a video on Facebook on Sunday. Wishing luck for the celebration, the video shows Trudeau packing food items to be sent to needy Muslims across the country to help them to enjoy the festivities. In the video, he says,“there is nothing more Canadian than helping out your neighbours” and highlighted the importance of Ramadan food banks. “The community spirit I felt at Ramadan food banks in Montreal and Toronto reminds us all — no matter our backgrounds, we’re in this together,” Trudeau wrote in the Facebook post.
The video has garnered over 3.7 million views on Facebook so far and has also received a lot of positive reactions on Twitter as well.
In an
official statement
