As the US inches closer to the November 5 presidential election, a Reuters US election poll predicted that Democratic Vice President Kamala Harris held a marginal 3 percentage-point lead over Republican Donald Trump—45 per cent to 42 per cent.
The latest polls survey done by the news agency indicated that voters particularly Democrats – might be more enthused about this year’s election than they were ahead of the November 2020 presidential election when Democrat Joe Biden defeated Trump.
The race is tight, with a razor-thin margin. According to the latest opinion poll by Washington Post/Schar School, Harris was leading among likely voters in Georgia 51 per cent to 47 per cent, while Trump was slightly ahead in Arizona with 49 per cent to 46 per cent. Both findings fell within the plus or minus 4.5 percentage points margin of error.
On Tuesday (October 22) in the US, Harris sat down for an interview with NBC News. Her running mate Tim Walz Her was in Madison, Wisconsin with former President Barack Obama for the first day of early voting in the swing state that forms a part of the “blue wall”.
Trump, on the other hand, campaigned in Florida and North Carolina. His running mate JD Vance was in Arizona with events in Peoria and Tucson.
