UK police can seize £2 mn from Andrew Tate in unpaid taxes case, rules court

A British court on Wednesday (December 18) ruled that the police may seize more than £2 million ($2.5 million) from anti-women, far-right influencer Andrew Tate and his brother Tristan Tate’s account in a case of unpaid taxes.

In a case covering the years 2014-22, the Devon and Cornwall Police charged the Tate brothers for not paying any tax on their earnings of around £21 million.

In the ruling, Westminster Chief Magistrate Paul Goldspring said that even though the case appeared to be a “complex financial matrix”, it was actually a “straightforward cheat” of British tax authorities, according to AFP.

The Tate brothers’ untaxed earnings were from their various online business activities, including online community War Room, financial business Hustlers’ University, website Cobra Tate, and activity on OnlyFans. The two brothers are currently in Romania where they are facing a separate case of rape and human trafficking.

Andrew Tate is a self-avowed misogynist who hails Hitler and late Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar publicly. He also preaches that women deserve to be beaten if they complain when a male partner cheats in a relationship. He preaches that women should remain at home tied to men and produce kids, don’t drive, bear responsibility for being raped, and that men should be allowed to do whatever they like with them, including rape, if they flag their male partner’s cheating.

Despite such a behaviour, Andrew Tate is one of the most popular online influencers. Last year, a YouGov survey found that 26 per cent of young British men agreed with him. To get an idea of the kind of views they agree with, consider this: he posted earlier in the day that “all women are soft prostitutes”.
