Two women from Telangana, currently living in California and seeking employment, died in a car accident while returning from a trip. They are identified as Pullakhandam Meghana Rani and Kadiyala Bhavana, who went to meet their friends aged 24.

The two women were originally from Garla Mandal, Mahabubabad district.

Both Bhavana and Meghana had completed their Master’s degrees and the latter, fondly known as Chikki, had moved to the US recently to explore job opportunities.

Meghana’s father, Nageshwara Rao, runs a Mee-Seva centre in Garla, while Bhavana’s father serves as the Deputy Sarpanch of Mulkanoor village. The sudden deaths have left their families and the local community in deep shock.

A GoFundMe page has been set up to raise funds for the repatriation of Meghana’s remains, as her family is struggling to cover the expenses.

The page reads, “Any contribution, no matter how small, will help us give my sister a dignified farewell and will mean more to us than words can express.”
