US President Donald Trump will watch a documentary of Hamas October 7 atrocities before meeting Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Tuesday, according to a report.
According to a Times of Israel report, citing the Ynet news outlet, Trump’s special envoy Steve Witkoff saw the documentary while in Israel last week and was left shocked, and decided that the US President should see it as well.
The IDF’s 47-minute video compilation documenting Hamas’s October 7 attack, which involved approximately 3,000 militants crossing into Israel, resulting in the deaths of around 1,200 people and the abduction of 251 hostages—primarily civilians—will be edited down to 20-30 minutes for the US President, added the report.
The footage, first screened for foreign journalists in Israel on October 23, 2023, includes harrowing scenes of murder, torture and decapitation from the Hamas slaughter in southern Israel, including raw videos from the terrorists’ bodycams.
The deadly Hamas assault on 7 October 2023 saw 251 people being taken hostage and about 1,200 others being killed. Israel’s military offensive which followed killed at least 47,400 Palestinians, according to Gaza’s Hamas-run health ministry.
On Tuesday, Netanyahu, is set to become the first foreign leader to meet President Donald Trump at the White House in his second term at a critical juncture for the Gaza ceasefire.
Trump has taken credit for brokering the initial six-week ceasefire that has put an end to 15 months of conflict between Israel and Hamas. As a result, 13 Israeli and five Thai hostages have been released, alongside the release of 583 Palestinian prisoners in exchange.
