Trump tells Netanyahu there will be 'World War 3' if he does not win 2024 US presidential elections

While conducting talks with Israel’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, former US President Donald Trump claimed that there will be a major war in the Middle East and potentially a third World War, if he does not win the 2024 Presidential Elections. On Friday, Trump met Netanyahu at his Mar-a-Lago residence in Florida.

The meeting between the two world leaders took place a day after Netanyahu met US President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris. “If we win, it’ll be very simple. It’s all going to work out and very quickly,” Trump told reporters at the start of the meeting. “If we don’t, you’re going to end up with major wars in the Middle East and maybe a third world war," Trump told the Israeli premier, The Hill reported.

“You are closer to a third world war right now than at any time since the second world war. You’ve never been so close, because we have incompetent people running our country,” he added.

Trump and his predictions

It is pertinent to note that this is not the first time Trump alluded to a world war three. The former president has previously said the world is on the brink of another world war with the fighting in the Middle East between Israel and Hamas and the ongoing Russia-Ukraine war.

The former reality television star also made a prediction that if he does not win the November polls, the stock market would crash. This is the first time Trump and Netanyahu met since the he left the White House in 2020. The relations between the two strained after Netanyahu congratulated Biden for winning the 2020 presidential elections.

Trump has been critical at times of Netanyahu since the start of the Israel-Hamas war. However, in the Friday meeting, he sought to underscore his support for Israel, citing his administration’s decision to move the US Embassy to Jerusalem and to withdraw from the Iran nuclear deal and impose sanctions.

“We’ve had a good relationship. I was very good to Israel, better than any president’s ever been,” Trump averred. After Netanyahu’s meeting with Biden, White House expressed optimism that a cease-fire deal and the release of hostages being held by Hamas is within reach. However, it is yet to be determined if Netanyahu’s meeting with the three of them would lead to any fruitful conclusion of the war or not.
