At least three people have reportedly died in an explosion at a Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department training facility, according to US Attorney General Pam Bondi. However, the Sheriff’s Department has not confirmed any casualties, stating that the cause of the blast at the Biscailuz Centre Academy in East LA remains under investigation

At least three people have reportedly died in an explosion at a Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department training facility on Friday morning, according to US Attorney General Pam Bondi.

In a post on X, Bondi wrote, “I just spoke to (US Attorney Bill Essayli) about what appears to be a horrific incident that killed at least three at a law enforcement training facility in Los Angeles. Our federal agents are at the scene and we are working to learn more. Please pray for the families of the sheriff’s deputies killed.”

However, the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department has not confirmed any fatalities. A department representative verified that there was an explosion at the Biscailuz Centre Academy Training facility in East Los Angeles and said the cause of the blast is under investigation. As of now, no deaths or injuries have been officially confirmed.

The Los Angeles Times, citing anonymous sources, reported that the explosion occurred as the facility’s bomb squad was relocating some explosives. Fox News and other US media outlets also reported that at least three sheriff’s deputies were killed in what appeared to be an accidental blast.

The Los Angeles County Fire Department said it responded to reports of a likely explosion at 7:30 a.m. California Governor Gavin Newsom’s office confirmed he had been briefed on the situation and that the incident took place inside the LA County Sheriff’s Special Operations Bureau in East Los Angeles.

According to KABC-TV aerial footage, the explosion occurred in a parking area full with sheriff patrol cars and box trucks.
