A former Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) operative has held the terror group’s chief Hafiz Saeed responsible for the deaths of thousands of Pakistanis, accusing him of sending young men into a “war of ashes” to serve the political objectives of the state.
Branding the group a “death cult”, the former recruit, who once aspired to be a doctor, shared how his decision to join Let, influenced by Saeed, derailed his promising future.
I aspired to become a doctor in accordance with my late mother's wish, but I was unable to fulfil this ambition. Rather than pursuing a university education, I chose to join LeT, influenced by a man (Hafiz Saeed) who adversely impacted my promising future.

“I aspired to become a doctor in accordance with my late mother’s wish, but I was unable to fulfil this ambition. Rather than pursuing a university education, I chose to join LeT, influenced by a man (Hafiz Saeed) who adversely impacted my promising future,” he said in a long post on X.
He recalled how he was assigned the duty of guarding Saeed in Muridke, where the terror mastermind lived comfortably and travelled in a modified Toyota Vigo modified with a comfortable sleeping area in the rear for his use.
He said, influenced by Saeed’s fiery sermons, countless young men were recruited into LeT and sent to Afghanistan and Kashmir.
“Every Thursday, approximately 500 individuals from across the country travelled to Afghanistan to undergo training at a camp named Ma’askar Tayyba located in Kunar Province,” he added.
He said he decided to leave LeT after witnessing its true nature during his time in Afghanistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir.
“I recall when the LeT commanders referred to me as a coward upon hearing of my decision to depart from the death cult,” said the former LeT operative.
He said LeT now boasts a force of nearly one million trained terrorists and operates as a significant entity within the state.
“He is responsible for the deaths of thousands of Pakistanis by sending them in a war of ashes to achieve state’s political goals. I wish to see his disgraceful end in my life,” said the former recruit.
He said he is now in a better place than Saeed desired for him as he has chosen by almighty to expose the dark face of Islamists.
