A “massive” Russian drone attack in Ukraine’s Odesa killed a person and injured four others on Tuesday, while strikes have also been reported in the capital city of Kyiv.

Odesa Governor Oleg Kiper said on Telegram that the Russian drone attack hit a maternity ward and residential buildings, leading to the death of a 59-year-old man. The latest attack comes a day after Moscow launched “retaliatory” strikes against Kyiv’s biggest military measure, dubbed “Operation Spider Web”, that targeted Russian airbases.

Meanwhile, Russia’s civil aviation authority, Rosaviatsia, has temporarily halted flights at all four major airports in Moscow for safety reasons, following reports of a Ukrainian drone attack.

Russian defence systems shot down 76 Ukrainian drones in just two hours late Monday, according to local reports. The incident comes after Russia carried out its largest drone strike on Ukraine.

Despite efforts by US President Donald Trump to reach a ceasefire agreement, a second round of peace talks in Turkey are at a standstill.

The only concrete agreement reached at the talks over the weekend was for the release of all seriously wounded or sick prisoners of war and those under the age of 25 – a deal that did not specify the number of soldiers involved.
