During his state visit to Thailand, Prime Minister Narendra Modi presented an array of traditional Indian gifts, including a Brass Statue of Sarnath Buddha and a Dokra Brass Peacock Boat, to the country’s leadership including the King, Queen and Prime Minister.

The Brass Statue of Sarnath Buddha in Dhyan Mudra is a remarkable blend of Buddhist spirituality and Indian artistry, reflecting the elegance of the Sarnath style. Crafted in Bihar, the statue embodies the influences of Gupta and Pala art, characterised by its serene expression, intricately designed robe and symbolic lotus pedestal.

Earlier today, PM Modi and the Thai PM held a meeting to discuss bilateral relations.“A productive discussion meeting was held with Prime Minister Paetongtarn Shinawatra in Bangkok just a short while ago. I would like to thank the Thai people and government for their warm welcome and also express solidarity with Thai people following the earthquake that occurred a few days ago,” PM Modi wrote in a post on X.
Further highlighting how India’s ‘Act East" and Thailand’s “Act West” policy complement each other very well, he said that the bilateral cooperation will open up opportunities for both in many areas.
