Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday had a phone conversation with King Philippe of Belgium during which they discussed enhancing bilateral ties, increasing trade and investment, and promoting collaboration in innovation and sustainability between their countries.

According to Associated Press, the discussions between PM Modi and King Philippe come as Indian authorities have asked their Belgian counterparts to begin the extradition process for fugitive Indian businessman Mehul Choksi, who is currently in Belgium.
Choksi’s newly acquired Belgian residency complicates the situation, allowing him to travel freely between European nations and obstructing efforts to return him to India for trial.
