Jake Tapper, co-author of a new book on Joe Biden, slammed Hunter, the former US president’s son, calling him “sleazy” and “unethical,” among other things.
The comment was made by Tapper, a CNN main anchor, in an interview with reporter Katie Couric on Tuesday.
He was accompanied by Alex Thompson of Axios, who co-wrote “Original Sin.”

“Hunter functioned similarly to a chief of staff for the Biden family”, Tapper told Couric on Next Question With Katie Couric. “This is strange, given his history of moral failings and poor choices”, he added.
“It’s bizarre because I think he is provably, demonstrably, unethical, sleazy and prone to horrible decisions,” he said.
Couric then enquired about Tapper’s “really feels” towards Hunter Biden. He then used a story from Hunter’s background to support his argument.
“Just look at the record: after his brother (Beau Biden) died, he cheated on his wife with his brother’s widow and then got her addicted to crack. That’s just one thing I could say. I don’t have a lot of personal regard for him. I barely have ever met him. I’ve met him like once or twice,” the Lead With Jake Tapper achor stated.

More ShortsHunter and Beau Biden’s widow, Hallie, started dating the year after Beau’s death in 2015.
In 2019, the relationship came to an end. Meanwhile, Tapper also made a comparison between the two brothers.
“I knew Beau. He was a great, upstanding guy. A real loss, for the country too — not just for his family, for the country. But Hunter is not that, and the idea of letting him drive the family car, as it were, is just really, really questionable,” he stated.
Hunter Biden was found guilty in September 2024 of three felony tax crimes and six misdemeanour tax offences while his father was still the president of the United States.
Despite his repeated denials, Biden gave Hunter a presidential pardon in December 2024, on the first day of his final full month in office.
