The National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Tuesday arrested the eighth accused in Delhi’s Red Fort blast case.

The NIA arrested Dr Bilal Naseer Malla, a native of Jammu and Kashmir’s Baramulla, from Delhi, the agency said in a statement.

A car blew up near Delhi's Red Fort on November 10, killing at least 15 persons and injuring around 20 people. The NIA and Delhi Police have named Umar Un Nabi as the bomber and dubbed the act of terror as suicide bombing.

The NIA said that Malla was found to be involved in the conspiracy behind the terrorist attack. The agency said he also harboured Umar and provided him logistical support.

The NIA has also accused Malla of destruction of evidence related to the terrorist attack.

“NIA is continuing with its investigation into the conspiracy behind the deadly terror act. The anti-terror agency is working closely with various central and state agencies to unravel all the threads of the conspiracy,” the NIA further said.

The NIA has so far arrested eight persons for conspiring and facilitating the attack.

Umar and others who have been arrested have been linked to the trans-state 'white terror' module spanning from J&K to Haryana and Uttar Pradesh that was originally busted by the J&K Police. Just hours before the Red Fort blast, the J&K Police had announced arrests and seizure of weapons and explosives in the crackdown on the white terror module that included many doctors.

The last person to be arrested in the case was Soyab, a resident of Haryana’s Faridabad, for helping Umar.

Sources told CNN-News 18 at the time that Muzammil Shakeel Ganai, whom investigators have named as one of the members of the white collar module, had kept a grinder and a portable furnace at Soyab’s house, which are believed to have been used to make improvised explosive devices (IEDs) and their components.

Sources further said that Soyab is an employee of Al-Falah University, which has been linked to multiple accused in the case.

In addition to Soyab, the NIA has arrested four persons who had been previously arrested by J&K Police in its investigation into the white collar module. These four persons were Muzammil; Dr Adeel Ahmed Rather of Anantnag, J&K; Dr Shaheen Saeed of Lucknow, UP; and Mufti Irfan Ahmad Wagay of Shopian, J&K.

Others arrested in the case were Amir Rashid Ali, in whose name the car used in the blast was registered, and Jasir Bilal Wani alias Danish, who had provided technical aid to Umar, according to NIA.

Among those arrested, Wagay has emerged as the mastermind behind the radicalisation and recruitment of the white-collar terror module, PTI has previously reported officials as saying.

Wani has emerged as a key ‘technical supporter’ of the module, according to The Times of India.

Wani has been accused of working closely with Umar to plan Hamas-style drone attacks and develop small, crude rockets for coordinated blasts, as per ToI.

Described as the technical backbone of the module, Wani is said to have modified drones, upgraded their batteries and camera systems, and attempted to integrate small explosive payloads designed for deployment in crowded public areas, the report said.
