Prime Minister Narendra Modi landed in Saudi Arabia’s Jeddah on Tuesday (April 22) for his two-day visit to the Kingdom nation. He was warmly welcomed with a 21-gun salute upon landing.
During his visit to Saudi Arabia, PM Narendra Modi will co-chair the second Leaders’ Meeting of the India-Saudi Arabia Strategic Partnership Council with Crown Prince and Prime Minister HRH Prince Mohammed bin Salman.

This is PM Modi’s third visit to Saudi Arabia following his earlier trips in 2016 and 2019. This is his first visit to Jeddah and a first visit by any Indian leader since 40 years.

MoUs, Hajj-related matter on the list
India and Saudi Arabia are expected to sign at least six MoUs on Tuesday during PM Modi’s visit to Jeddah. According to sources quoted by news agency PTI, Modi will also discuss Hajj-related matters, including the quota for Indian pilgrims, in his meeting with Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman.
The agreements will likely cover areas such as space, energy, health, science, culture, and advanced technology.
On Wednesday, Modi will visit a factory that employs Indian workers and meet members of the Indian community in Saudi Arabia, which is home to 2.7 million Indians.
In an interview with Arab News, Modi called Saudi Arabia “one of India’s most valued partners, a maritime neighbour, a trusted friend, and a strategic ally.” He also described the Kingdom as a force for “positivity and stability” in the region.
