Billionaire entrepreneur and Tesla CEO Elon Musk hailed the political setting for the New Year, with a praise for US President-elect Donald Trump as he mocked Canada’s Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, who announced his resignation on Monday (January 6), and also took a jibe at the UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer. Musk linked these political events to the post described as the comeback of masculinity on the world’s political stage.
“2025 is looking promising,” Musk wrote on X, sharing a post. Tesla CEO’s shared post said, “Trump won. Trudeau resigned. Keir Starmer was exposed. Nayib Bukele reduced crime by 95% in El Salvador. Javier Milei achieved the first surplus in Argentina since 2008. Masculinity is making a comeback. Great men are rising. And just in time. We’re going to need them."
Musk’s comment came just days before his Donald Trump’s second inauguration on January 20.
Reactions from netizens
One user replied, “Hard times lead to Great Men!!!"
Another commented, “A great way to start the year. Let’s bring our country back to the values that made it great, safe, and strong. Then we can help other countries, like Britain, do the same."
“Ah yes, 2025: the year the world hit reset and finally started heading in the right direction,” wrote another user.
Trudeau Steps down as Canadian PM
After serving as the prime minister for nine years, Justin Trudeau said on Monday that he was stepping down, believing the country “deserves a real choice in the next election."
Trudeau’s resignation came after intense pressure from fellow members of his Liberal Party, who urged him to step down amid declining approval ratings among Canadians.
Trudeau said while giving his address during the announcement of his resignation, “Every morning I’ve woken up as prime minister, I’ve been inspired by the resilience, generosity, and determination of Canadians. It has been the driving force of every day I’ve had the privilege of serving in this office."
Elon Musk needles Starmer
Musk accused Starmer of being “complicit in the rape of Britain” in crimes allegedly committed by the so-called Pakistani grooming gangs. The grooming gangs scandal involves allegations of child sexual abuse in the UK. Starmer was head of the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) from 2008 to 2013, where he introduced guidelines for handling child sexual abuse (CSA) cases.
Musk, the world’s richest man, posted on X, “Starmer was complicit in the rape of Britain when he was head of the CPS for 6 years.” He further called for Starmer to be removed and face charges for his role in what Musk described as the ‘worst mass crime’ in Britain’s history.
Impact Shorts
More ShortsStarmer dismissed Musk’s allegation while defending his actions as a prosecutor. Though he did not directly address Musk, Starmer denied claims that he failed to prosecute gangs involved in the sexual abuse of girls.
