‘Lovelier, smart and charming’: Elon Musk’s mother praises Usha Vance amid racist attack

Tesla CEO Elon Musk’s mother, Maye Musk, responded to a social media post questioning why Vice President JD Vance’s wife, second lady Usha Vance, was not acknowledged despite becoming the first Indian-American and Hindu to serve as the second lady of the United States.

Usha Vance has suffered racial insults on social media, primarily from the MAGA inner circle, since she is not a Christian while being married to JD Vance who is Christian.

Usha and JD Vance have three children, one of whom has an Indian name, Vivek. The others are Ewan and Mirabel.

Usha Vance has previously experienced insults because of her beliefs and Indian background.

When Donald Trump named JD Vance as his vice presidential candidate, his wife’s Hindu faith was called into question.

At the time, JD Vance responded to the insults by saying, “Look, my attitude to these people attacking my wife is, she’s beautiful, she’s smart.”

“What kind of man marries Usha? A very smart man and a very lucky man, importantly,” JD Vance stated.
