Amid several hoax bomb threats to a number of Indian carriers, Khalistani terrorist Gurpatwant Singh Pannun on Monday issued a fresh warning to travellers not to fly on Air India flights between November 1 and 19, claiming that an attack is possible on any of its plane during the specified dates, which coincides with the “40th anniversary of the Sikh genocide”.

As per a report in CNN News18, Pannun, who holds dual citizenship of the US and Canada, has also warned Sikh ‘panth’ not to fly in Air India.

“From November 19. There will be a global blockade. Air India won’t be allowed to operate,” he threatened.

His latest warning follows a pattern where he issued a similar threat around the same time last year when he released a video claiming that New Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International (IGI) Airport would be renamed and warned passengers against flying on Air India.

Pannun, the founder of Sikhs for Justice (SFJ), has been designated as a terrorist by the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) under the Unlawful Activities Prevention Act (UAPA) in July 2020 for promoting “separatism and inciting violence”.

The latest threat from Pannun also comes at a time when India and Canada are engaged in a diplomatic row after allegations by Justin Trudeau’s administration of India targeting Khalistani elements in the country, including the murder of Hardeep Singh Nijjar in 2023.

Despite his designation as a terrorist in India, Pannun remains active in the international political landscape, especially in Canada, the UK, and the US, where he lobbies for support for the Khalistan movement and misuses his access for spreading anti-India propaganda.

He is a prominent figure in the Khalistani separatist movement which seeks to establish an independent Sikh state called Khalistan, out of Punjab in India.

Pannun is also accused by the National Investigation Agency (NIA) in multiple cases. He is known for insulting the Indian flag and has even threatened Indian diplomats on several occasions.

Top intelligence sources to CNN News18 recently said that Pannun is running an immigration racket and, looking at his strategy, Pakistan’s spy agency ISI is also in touch with him.

“Initially he kept on denying his association with them but he later came out openly in London with Pakistan high commission’s Kashmir Day event. His idea is to instigate the youth of Punjab born after 1984 against India and atrocities on the Sikh community," a source was quoted as saying by CNN News18.

As per sources, Pannun has been receiving funding from the ISI, some money from innocent youths, and some donations in the name of war. He has also allegedly made many gurdwaras of the UK, US, and Canada breeding grounds for anti-India sentiments.
