 "WATCH | Netanyahu warns Lebanon of 'destruction & suffering like Gaza if...'")
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu issued a warning to Lebanon, claiming that the country could face a similar suffering to Gaza if it continues to allow Hezbollah to operate within its borders.
Addressing the people of Lebanon, Netanyahu, in over a 3-minute video message, said: “I say to you, the people of Lebanon: Free your country from Hezbollah so that this war can end.”
The Israeli PM’s direct message to the Lebanese people comes at a time when the Israeli military has intensified its offensive against Hezbollah along Lebanon’s southern coastline.
‘Save Lebanon before it falls’
Netanyahu asked the Lebanese people to save their country from the grip of Hezbollah to restrict further destruction.
“You have an opportunity that hasn’t existed in decades. An opportunity to take care of the future of your children and grandchildren. You have an opportunity to save Lebanon before it falls into the abyss of a long war that will lead to destruction and suffering like we see in Gaza,” he said.
Lebanon back from Hezbollah
Netanyahu further urged the people of Lebanon to act against Hezbollah and free their country from the militant group.
He said that the Lebanese people have been suffering because of Hezbollah’s futile war against Israel.
" Don’t let these terrorists destroy your future any more than they have already done. Stand up and take your country back. Free your country from Hezbollah so that your country can prosper again, so that future generations of Lebanese and Israeli children will know neither war nor bloodshed but will finally live together in peace," he said.
The Israeli PM further said that Hezbollah has turned Lebanon into a stockpile of ammunition weapons and a forward Iranian military base.

Netanyahu said that the Israeli forces have eliminated Hezbollah leader Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah and his would-be successors. However, he did not name any of them.
“We have degraded Hezbollah’s capabilities. We took out thousands of terrorists, including Nasrallah himself and Nasrallah’s replacement, and the replacement of the replacement,” he said.
“Today Hezbollah is weaker than it has been for many, many years,” he further said.
‘Israel will win’
Netanyahu said that just one day after the October 7, 2023, massacre Hezbollah joined the war against Israel and launched an unprovoked attack on Israeli cities and its people.
“It has since fired over 8,000 missiles at Israel, killing civilians without distinction. Israel has decided to put an end to this. We have decided to do whatever is necessary to return our people safely to their homes,” he said.
“Israel has a right to defend itself. Israel also has a right to win! And Israel will win!” Netanyahu added.
