Israeli hospital reports ‘extensive damage’ after Iranian missile strike; several cities hit, including Tel Aviv

Several missile hits have been reported from Israel on Thursday (June 19) as Iran mounted a major missile attack on the Jewish nation. According to media reports, reports of damage and injuries are emerging from Tel Aviv, Ramat Gan, Holon and Beersheba.

A hospital spokesperson also confirmed extensive damage at the site and said they were assessing the damage.

“There has been a strike on the hospital and extensive damage in various areas,” a Soroka Hospital spokesperson said. “We are currently assessing the damage, including injuries.”

Reports say that a 60-year-old man was in critical condition following the strikes.

Hospital officials have now urged the public to stay away from the facility as emergency teams responded.

Israel’s national ambulance service said that the floor of the hospital, which was hit on Thursday, had been evacuated a day earlier.

According to reports, over 20 missiles were launched from Iran earlier on Thursday. Israel’s emergency service Magen David Adom (MDA) said 32 people were injured in the attacks.

Israel’s deputy foreign affairs minister called the hospital attack “deliberate” and “criminal”.

Sharren Haskel, posting on X, said the site that was struck is “not a military base” but “a hospital”, adding that this was the main medical centre for Israel’s entire Negev region.

She also shared a video that appears to show damage inside the hospital.

“The world must speak out,” Haskel wrote.

Israel hits Iran’s Arak heavy-water

In response, Israeli forces launched strikes at Iran’s Arak heavy-water nuclear reactor, a facility long viewed with concern by Western powers due to its potential to produce plutonium for weapons.

The Reuters news agency reported that the site had been hit shortly after Israel warned residents in the Arak-Khondab region to evacuate.

Separately, Israeli forces announced the killing of Yassin Abdel Moneim Ezzedine, a senior Hezbollah artillery commander operating in Lebanon’s Litani sector. Military spokesperson Avichay Adraee said Ezzedine had planned multiple attacks on Israel and was instrumental in efforts to rebuild Hezbollah’s artillery capabilities. The group has not yet commented on the reported strike.
