Several strikes hit Al-Hawsh, near the south Lebanon city of Tyre, on Thursday, after the Israeli army issued an evacuation warning for the area, according to a report.

The strikes on Al-Hawsh coincided with an exodus of civilians from the Rashidieh camp for Palestinian refugees near Tyre which was also covered by the evacuation warning, AFP quoted the official National News Agency as saying.

Earlier in the day, the Israeli army urged residents in several regions of southern Lebanon, including a Palestinian refugee camp of Rashidieh, to evacuate, saying that it was ready to strike Hezbollah targets in those locations.

For your safety, you must evacuate without delay,” the Israeli military’s Arabic-language spokesman Avichay Adraee said in a post on X.

The post said that anyone who near Hezbollah elements, facilities or weapons is putting his life in danger.

“You are prohibited from heading south. Any movement south could be dangerous to your life. We will inform you of the appropriate time to return to your homes as soon as the conditions are suitable for this,” added the post.

Israel stated that the strikes were aimed at sites linked to the Lebanese militant group Hezbollah.

According to government estimates, approximately 1.2 million people have been displaced by the ongoing conflict in Lebanon. Lebanon’s Health Ministry reported over 2,800 deaths and 12,900 injuries since October 8, 2023, when Hezbollah began launching rockets into Israel, prompting retaliatory actions. Israeli ground forces invaded southern Lebanon at the start of October.

In Gaza, the death toll from more than a year of conflict related to the Israel-Hamas war has surpassed 43,000, according to Palestinian officials, who did not differentiate between civilians and combatants.

The Israel-Hamas war began on October 7, 2023, when Hamas-led militants infiltrated Israel, resulting in approximately 1,200 deaths, mostly civilians, and the abduction of 250 individuals.
