Amid escalating hostilities with Pakistan, multiple reports through the Thursday night said that India carried out a significant military operation targeting Karachi Port. This marks a significant departure in India’s counter-offensive against Pakistan’s provocations since the Pahalgam terror attack on April 22, when 26 people were killed at a popular tourist spot in Jammu and Kashmir.

Multiple news reports said loud explosions were heard near the port area in the southern Pakistani city of Karachi late Thursday night.

If confirmed, this marks the first time since the 1971 war that the Indian Navy has opened a direct front against Pakistan. That was also the last time when India and Pakistan were engaged in a full-fledged war that resulted in the liberation of Bangladesh, then known as East Pakistan. During the Kargil war, the extent of fighting was limited.

In the current situation, media reports said the Indian Navy launched missile strikes on critical Pakistani naval installations, inflicting substantial damage and triggering panic along the country’s coastline.

The Western Fleet of Indian Navy operating from Mumbai is completely deployed and ready if any kind of attack happens in these areas they are completely ready for retribution and response.

In December 1971, during the Indo-Pakistan War, the Indian Navy launched two daring naval strikes on Karachi, Pakistan’s most vital port city and naval headquarters.

Launched on December 4, 1971, Operation Trident was a surprise naval attack on the Karachi port by the Indian Navy. It marked the first time anti-ship missiles were used in combat in the region.
