 "'India stands ready to offer all possible assistance': PM Modi expresses concerns on Myanmar earthquake")
Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed concern over the two strong earthquakes of 7.7 and 6.4 magnitudes that hit Myanmar today. He offered prayers for everyone’s safety and assured support to Myanmar and Thailand.

“Concerned by the situation in the wake of the Earthquake in Myanmar and Thailand. Praying for the safety and wellbeing of everyone. India stands ready to offer all possible assistance. In this regard, asked our authorities to be on standby. Also asked the MEA to remain in touch with the Governments of Myanmar and Thailand,” PM Modi said in a post on X.
A powerful 7.7-magnitude earthquake struck Myanmar on Friday, sending people running out of buildings in Yangon and even in Bangkok, Thailand’s capital.

The US Geological Survey (USGS) reported that the quake occurred at a depth of 10 km (6.2 miles) and was followed by a strong aftershock.
The epicentre was 17.2 km from Mandalay, a city with about 1.2 million residents.
The earthquake caused panic as buildings swayed and water spilled from rooftop pools. Videos on social media showed cars rocking and people rushing onto the streets.
