 "Imran Khan's wife Bushra Bibi released from jail day after getting bail in Toshakhana case")
Imran Khan’s wife Bushra Bibi was released from jail on Thursday after being incarcerated for almost nine months at Pakistan’s Adiala Jail.
The development comes a day after Bibi was granted bail in the Toshakhana case that still has kept her husband behind bars.
In the days before the February polls, Bibi was convicted of graft and illegal marriage alongside opposition leader Khan in what he claimed was a campaign to sideline him from the vote.
She was arrested in January after an Islamabad accountability court sentenced her and the former Pakistan prime minister to 14 years in jail over the graft case.
‘Was kept in jail to put pressure on Khan’
Announcing Bushra Bibi’s release from jail, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI) chairman Gohar Ali Khan said, “She was kept in jail to put pressure on Imran Khan. “I extend my heartfelt congratulations to all PTI supporters on the release of Bushra Bibi, and we offer our gratitude to God.”

“The cases brought against her were not only false and unjust, but also petty and morally questionable,” PTI supporter Aqsa Qasim, who was waiting outside the residence, told AFP.
“It’s been a long time since we received any good news, but today we are here to welcome the wife of our leader, who was unjustly imprisoned.”
What was the case against her?
The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has alleged that the couple acquired a costly Bvlgari jewelry set, which included a necklace, earrings, bracelets, and rings, gifted by a foreign leader, at an undervalued price, resulting in a substantial financial loss to the exchequer.
